TTFA Reunion 2022

Crowne Plaza Hotel – Greenville, SC

June 23 – 25, 2022

Bigger is not always better

Although the 2022 National Reunion in Greenville, S.C., was one of the lowest attended, it was one of the best in the history of the TTFA. The threat of COVID, flight cancellations, and high gas and airfare prices made it difficult for many to attend this year.  The small number, however, did not deter those in attendance from having one of the most enjoyable reunions in recent times.

Attendees gathered at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Greenville, SC, a beautiful hotel with very reasonable rates ($109/night), nice accommodations and a helpful staff.

Greenville had a lot to offer during our free time in the way of great restaurants and shopping.  It was especially enjoyable to visit Falls Park on the Reedy in the downtown area.

The Greenville area is the site of our old ancestor Edward Towry”s (#1) the homef. Several attendees took an interesting side trip to the general area where Edward lived (much of the area is covered by a current day reservoir).

During the reunion we enjoyed learning more about our heritage through various presentations about our Towry/Towery ancestors. We took time to remember family members we have lost since our last reunion. And we had a “T for Towry/Towery” challenge, where attendees wore something beginning with a “T”.  One family wore tee shirts emblazoned with a type of tea on the front of the shirts.

President C. David Towery is fond of saying “there is no such thing as a bad TTFA reunion” and he is right.  Greenville was no exception.

Planning is currently underway for the June 2024 reunion.  We hope you will join us, have fun and make lasting connections with your cousins.
